Making Kerbs

Hi,
Anyone knowing how to create good kerb with editor like GIMP, Paint or so?
Cause making them in Snakeditor isn't best in WS 255 Tracks ;)

I make them with Paint. I just choose size (2x2, 3x3...) in pixels, then draw them with pencil or with brush (especially on parts parallel to borders).

And what about turns?

I guess you could use the curved line tool to make the border, fill, then put in the stripes. Or you can just use the same theory for what Paw mentioned above, but just have a guideline of some sort to follow with the brush or pencil, be ready to hit undo and edit the pixels a bit to make it perfect. :bg:

With pencil. No exceptions.

With some other software you can extend the selection and fill, to make a one-color kerb, then make the second color. IIRC there was tutorial by Jimmy, but I can't find it.

i do it the same as Paw, a 2x2 pencil, done accurately, takes about 10 minutes to an average track i think.

there was a tutorial on RSC i think, showing a way of doing them in photoshop (i think it had something to do with making corners in photoshop too. i dont know how well that converts to gimp

There is easy way to do it with GIMP.

1. Select track
2. Convert to path
3. Draw path with red, in line style uncheck every second dot, so it goes like this: []_[]_[]_[]_[]_ and so on
4. Draw it again, but with white, and invert the dots (_[]_[]_[]_[]_[])
5. Delete parts of kerbs that go over the track
6. Delete unnecessary kerbs
7. ???
8. PROFIT!

How i've made them over the past couple of years (in PSP);

1 - Select track
2 - Create 2px border around track (for 1px white line and 1px tarmac2 line)
3 - Shift+Click on track to make one selection (so the selection is track + 2px border)
4 - Create 3px/4px border.
5 - Use airbrush tool (size 4 or 5) to create kerbs.
6 - Save
