Re: [rwl] [kar] Albi Kart Challenge
I suspect real world kart tracks are much more suitable for GeneRally than full-size tracks, since the kart tracks are already designed close to GeneRally’s scale. That means all the corners work the way they were designed to.

Re: [ral] [tpk] [stg] Southern Ohio Forest Rally (SOFR)
The competition I want for AI is the one where different track makers all make their own AI lines for the same track and you see which AI(s) win the race based on the AI lines. Maybe with teams so each AI line has more than one chance. Sometimes the best AI times are purely accidental, like when the...

[ral] [tpk] [stg] Southern Ohio Forest Rally (SOFR)
17 stages on 16 maps. Build time 5 weeks. This rally is based on the Southern Ohio Forest Rally. I took interesting portions of the rally maps and followed the basic height map and layouts. Nothing too realistic, just an excuse to do a forest rally that way I've always wanted. I made an effort to ke...

Re: [cir] [tpk] Gzehoo's World Tour
Someday I’d like to have a competition where people customize their cars, then the customized cars race against each other via AI on a series of tracks like this. After each series, participants are given more points to improve their car with, then another circuit is raced by the improved cars. This...

Re: [ral] [stg] [tpk] Bondvel Rally
I didn't realize this was a rally pack until yesterday. I pretty much only race rally packs these days. Anyway, here's my comments on this: The good: - It's long. I like long. - The scenery is nice where you have the grass hills and sometimes the gullies and height changes. - Until the special stage...

Re: [ral] [stg] [tpk] Rajd Krakowski
Most of the one-lap rally tracks don’t have AI lines. They’re designed to be raced with one car to see how quickly you can get to the finish line and set the best track time records. Some rally tracks have AI lines so you can watch the AI compete for best times, but since AI is not needed for these ...

Re: [cir] [tpk] Gzehoo's World Tour
I like the small details you add. A lot of thought out into them. They look better every time you post. Now needs: dramatic height map changes! The tracks look a bit flat and boring. Need some ups and downs and banked corners. Okay, maybe that’s not realistic for real world stuff, but it does make t...

Just in case anyone is interested in challenging my times: 1-0 Shakedown - (My best: 19.01 4th) - I've tried and tried and just can't beat the best times 1-1 Dust Devil - (My best: 40.92 1st) 1-2 Hogback - (My best: 28.08 1st) 1-3 Spectrum - (My best: 34.68 1st) - this took a long time 1-4 Rabbit - ...

I want a rally track pack of this. More narrow roads and longer stages, but same look and feel. Love the giant slab of exposed rock in the corner. Reminds me of places I’ve hiked.

I posted all of my best times for the Gudauri rally after I finally placed first on all the tracks. Might be a while before I can do that here. Would be nice if people posted high scores, but I have yet to see anyone do that. Perhaps it would be more annoying to bump a thread posting a high score th...

Re: [ral] [tpk] [stg] Rally Sunstone
I've played through all these stages many times, but the only one I consistently cannot score on is Rabbit 3. I also found Cow Road 2 to be very difficult. The 5-second gap between my position and 1st place on many tracks is a bit disheartening. I have successfully scored first place on Hogback 1-2 ...

[ral] [tpk] [stg] Rally Sunstone
This fictional rally is based in the Oregon Desert in Oregon, USA. There is a place where you can go to gather semi-precious stones called Oregon Sunstones, and if you use Google Maps to search for "Sunstone Area", that's what you'll find. This rally is based on the dirt roads found within...

Alright, it took me a good long while and many attempts, but I finally beat the AI on every one of these stages. All your tracks are great. I visited your website and downloaded most of them. Have been holding little formula and yankee competitions with them. My only issues are with tracks where AI knocks me off course around a corner and causes me to miss a checkpoint and thus a lap. Might as well quit the ra...

Car Variations Editor?
Years ago when I was toying with my own Advance car concept (which sadly never made it online for me to be able to download it again, see my avatar), I had a base car and I built a javascript editor that allowed me to tweak the values of the car so that there would be subtle variations between racin...

New rally pack based on the country of Georgia! Recommended car: Yankee, or any same-stat variations. This pack is essentially in three stages. The first is the climb up the highway through Gudauri, driving primarily on the main roads. The second stage is when you begin climbing the mountain road to...

Re: [ral] [stg] [tpk] Rally Barborka 2012
I'm sure this isn't kosher (look ma, no permissions!), but these track routes were pretty confusing (whoever designed SS4 was on drugs) and they weren't getting the attention they needed. Several of them are "track and a half". I gave them a little TLC with AI routes (so you can watch the ...

Making a general comment here that it is fun to have smaller track sizes if you’re projecting the game to a tv to play with friends. Makes it easy for everyone to see even if they’re not sitting close.

Re: [ral] [tpk] [stg] Rally Kojori
I am glad you appreciate the feel of driving the Yankee down the straightaways because that’s what I liked about it. And yes, breaking it up with country tracks was intentional because the technical city courses get exhausting. As for the poorly aligned walls, I am old and my back doesn’t like hunch...

Re: [ral] [tpk] [stg] Rally Kojori
Well, a good part of the course is more like racing on a city circuit than on a rally stage. Are you wishing the woodsy stages were less restrictive? I was just going by what I saw on Google Maps. :) Just for fun, I revised the AI line for each of the tracks so a decent AI 100 Yankee car can actuall...

[ral] [tpk] [stg] Rally Kojori
Stopped by in my COVID-19 induced boredom to tinker with some old games. I had some fun racing the technical rally tracks, and enjoyed some of the courses such as Finland. I took a road trip through Kojori, southwest of Tbilisi, Georgia a few weeks ago. It was a fairly precarious drive, so I thought...
