ARC Striker II (GRTCC Spec) [tou]
The latest offering out of the American Racing Company workshop, the Striker II touring car. The original Striker was inspired by the Venom STR GT racer, taking the large triangular front grille and fierce, snake-like headlight styling from the Venom STR. After last season, some issues were realized with the original car, and updated to create this new version. ARC engineer James Wilco spent a lot of time in the wind tunnel and also out on the track with test driver Dale Aceman perfecting this new beast. The greenhouse was elongated in order to allow the driver to extricate himself easier and quicker in the event of a fire or a big crash, and with that came a steeper rear windshield angle which appears to have helped the aerodynamics slightly. The nose went through a redesign to make it a little sleeker and aerodynamic, while still retaining the familiar Striker headlight and grille styling cues, and also still meet GRTCC regulations. Lastly, a larger, more powerful engine was installed to bring it up to the updated GRTCC specifications. This car is ready to be produced in larger quantities for aftermarket teams as well as the in-house Striker USA Works Team. ARC is hoping to see a little more success out of its new touring car this season.
