PGR F1 World Championship 2016 [HL/Race] [Login]
Re: PGR F1 World Championship 2016 [HL/Race] [Login]
I'm very disappointed with my race. Had good pace (more or less), but lost a few seconds with AI's. Also I couldn't decide with one/two pit strategy before the race (impressive progress with the car, BTW, in 2015 it was clear for me that one stop was the choice), and during the action I went on with two stops. Now I think it was wrong Williams-style decision. I still had troubles with computer opponents and couldn't benefit from fresher tires. Nevertheless I expect to gain a few points.

Welcome back to one of the GR legends and PGRF1 World Champion of 2011. Racing will get very exciting now with the 3 champions akouk, Alonso, Maclape and with also Yankess and Lorenzo. Now we only have to convince RudyOosterndijk to return for maybe one guest start in Germany, and then we'd have every PGRF1 (World) Champion on the grid, at once.

Crossing the white line at pit exit is forbidden, isn't it? maclape was doing that all the time I'm afraid. Or maybe that rule refers to some other white lines that I didn't notice.

Revision of the 2016 Turkish Grand Prix race results
We have taken a deep look into the races of all 17 drivers and came to the conclusion that:
The Sporting Regulations state that crossing of the continuous white line at the pit exit results in a 3-second penalty for every breach of rule commited. In Istanbul the line at the pit exit was both white and continuous (as opposed to e.g. Monte Carlo). A driver who crosses the white line has to put the full diameter of one of his tyres beside the line. See Austria 2015 for the most recent precedent.
In the past, drivers crossed the white line after having made a mistake, like crashing into the barrier or driving over sunk tyres. A penalty was awarded irregardless of any mishap that occured prior to crossing the white line. However, back then the penalty was not as clearly defined by the rules as it is now.
How was this overseen?
You might have noticed that we shortened the pit exit line between qualifying and race. There was another proposition for the race version of Istanbul, in which the white line was cut back even further. When we plotted your races using Majortom's GameAnalyser this version was loaded.
Have the results changed?
Unfortunately, we had to make some significant changes to the final results of the Turkish Grand Prix, involving 4 points scorers and including the winner of this race - sorry.
We have now updated the results tables:
Lorenzo has witnessed multiple breaches of the rule concerning the white line at the pit exit after watching the replay files, which were published yesterday.Lorenzo wrote:Crossing the white line at pit exit is forbidden, isn't it? maclape was doing that all the time I'm afraid. Or maybe that rule refers to some other white lines that I didn't notice.
We have taken a deep look into the races of all 17 drivers and came to the conclusion that:
- 8 drivers came reasonably close to the continuous white line at the pit exit and were further investigated
- out of these 8 drivers, there are 5 drivers who crossed this line at least once in the sense of § 11.8 of the Sporting Regulations
