Tools - MsComCtl.ocx

Post by zgr »

Image

It is not missing, apparently it isn't invalid aswell.
I tried to use Juan's Tools, but this message came up.
Even compatibility-changes (XP, W7) don't work

Anyone who had the same problem or can help with it?

Oh ye, the batch-file worked. Didn't even thought about it :D

But now I got the same problem with comdlg32.ocx
Not even the batch can help me there...

If nothing helps, registering OCX and DLLs is my very last resort. So if that doesn't help with comdlg32.ocx, I don't know. Maybe, re-installing Visual Basic 6.0 was the better idea from the start. :)

Registering the OCX failed, re-installing Visual Basic failed aswell :D

SOLUTION
I actually tried this one and it worked:

I had to start the service ActiveX Installer, then the registration actually worked

Oh wow. I'll bookmark this for later. What made you consider running the Installer?

I just saw it on some forum and tried it out.
Also, I just run it for the registration of these ocx and dll files. I stopped in right afterwards, the ocx dll files still working fine until now :bsmile:

Tried to launch Juan's Car Editor this morning and found this fix (Windows 10 x64) :

. Download Visual Basic 6.0 and install it. (May be optional as it may already installed on your computer, but I list exactly what I did. It don't make any harm though to install it)
. Right click on the Car Editor and select "Resolve compatibility issues". Launch it.
. Test the app like suggested. It will not work as intended.
. Choose "My issue isn't listed here (4th choice)". Then choose "Worked well on Windows XP". Program listed those following now activated : Always run as administrator, Windows XP compatibility, High DPI scaling replacement
. It will set everything right and you'll finally be able to launch it.

Hope it helps and will makes things much easier.
