Glad that you have more tracks upcoming, they'll be appreciated be sure of it ! :goodvibes:

Those rocks may took you ages to put there but they look good globally, giving this 3d effect that you wouldn't totally have with fake lmap.

Seems to have this feel of an historic track with those hay bales, dotted lines and this gorgeous paved place. :yummy:

Or a rally track, with those tight turns.

If it's Corse de Vivedo you're currently making, it could be easily both.

Can't wait ! :heyea:

Mmh... What is on the right side ?

My bet is a a dock full of ships facing the sea or an avenue along the sea like the Promenade des Anglais in Nice. :2c:

Northwest RX - Remix
Northwest RX - Remix
So... do I need to stop there, or do you allow me to keep going @Rotaxary @CraapyTracks ?

If you allow me to keep on, I would gladly welcome your suggestions and insights, as you are the original authors, as you know better than me rallycross, and I want to see with you what we can do to improve this track, as a team, if you agree with it of course.

I want to keep the original layout but change a bit the surroundings if possible, as the stands are too much for such a little rallycross track, for example.

I'm waiting for your approval before asking you some questions to build up even more this track. :)

And well I did this calmly after my work, little by little, with a glass of fruit juice and some snacks. :D

Track Request?
This track in Danmark is so awesome. Im not sure it will be visible, but it has this little jump on a downhill, which leads to a "kick" (like a second 'natural' jump). Ahh its so awesome. Hope it appears on this game someday
Too much elevations, I cant do it =[

You have a track request thread elsewhere, but to add to your request I want to specify the correct name, as I had difficulty to find it : It's Motorsport Nordjylland in Nysum, Denmark.

Seems a nice rx circuit in an 8 layout with a bridge and at least 1 alternative joker lap to choose from. :)

Can't do it right now as I'm exclusively busy on working on the GR Best Of folder, and it takes a really long time unfortunately. :squid:

And real world tracks are a little time consuming and needs the maximum of informations from it, with top down view, drone views if possible, but you have at least a video of it with racing it's a big help. :bg:

I do really think that Tokachi International Speedway would be a good addition if we could somehow get it once more (the original version was before my time in GR), I've enjoyed it in every game it's shown up on. I didn't want to necropost the track request thread,

Here's how the track looks from a driver's perspective. Sorry if this isn't the appropriate place in advance

I've made Tokachi once, on a blue monday, very underwhelming. If you want to I can send it to you, can also suggest ways of improving it maybe. Current version is just very linear and flat, no slope or anything.
To finish first, first you have to finish!

I dropped this as a hint in some GR related Discord's, but I have something on the horizon (maybe the next couple of weeks)

This is the normal GR palette. :shhh:

Hello! For some reason I'm trying to do a wet weather version of a track. Just trying something new (for me) I guess. I'm sure by this point there's hardly anything new you can do in this game. :)
pic.jpg
Anyway I was thinking of putting either snow (L) or oil (R) under the puddles. Currently leaning towards oil. Just plain water I find doesn't really slow you down at all. Snow slows you and oil has zero grip. Perhaps even a combination? Snow in the middle of a straight and oil in the corners?

I'm putting the puddles on the normal driving lines so you'll have to find your own lines in the rain. I was also thinking of doing the AI line so that it goes around the wet bits. Or keep AI line normal and make the player go around? I'm still testing.

Is this a completely ridiculous idea or am I onto something? Any suggestions how it should be done? Has someone done this in the past? Did it work?

P.S. if you can guess the track from the pics you're a genius and I'll give you a thumbs up. It's one of those 120 WS generallyfied RWL tracks.

I have quite a few in the works, but thought I'd show a version of Richmond Raceway that I'm working on which utilises some of my mod to create new objects, such as the timing/screen tower and repainted walls. Lot more to go. :bg:

@aliman : I'm not able to recognize it, and so I'm not a genius :D , but I'm so, sooo happy to see those 120 WS tracks coming back ! You're awesome ! :goodvibes: I thought first about Gil Vilneuve but you already did it and the layout isn't the same as shown.

For rainy tracks I invert tarmac 1 and 2 by clean dirt (the greenish one in the GR palette, without gravel) and mud.

Then I use a rain palette that invert tarmac 1 and 2 with dirt and mud, and I tweak the cars in a way that when driving on mud and dirt it got the same stats than tarmac 1 and 2 minus 0,5.

That way you :
. Drive the same car for rainy and sunny tracks, as the value for tarmac are unchanged (or you can create a rain version aside).
. Got the feeling that you're really driving on a wet surface, with some splashes when driving. Add some rainy sounds with it in background and it's even better, even though you don't see rain falling.
. Got rainy tracks really easily by a simple modification in Gimp or similar software.

But you :
. Have to create a rainy version of the same track.
. Have to change the palette to got the best out of it.
. Got a car that is a bit better in mud and dirt than intended with normal specs (or again you can create a rain version aside).

But for me it's the best way. Here's a little preview :
Rainy Track Day.jpg
In my memory the first to did it is either Tedminator with its wet Surfer's Paradise or Kid A with its wet Ricard around 2003. They used water on tracks as well like you. Then LongBow created a rain palette in 2005, where he described his thought pattern which was very interesting, using dirt for the track's layout to create the special splashes effect and reversing colors with its palette. I was mostly inspired from him for my rainy tracks. Here's his readme :
What I wanted to achieve is that a rain race would actually feel like a rain race, not only look like one,
but I couldn`t achieve this by using oil as a surface.
Instead of oil I decided to use gravel to simulate the rain effect. Actually only one colour of the gravel.

The reason why I chose gravel is the fact that I wanted to achieve rain effects that can`t be achieved by using oil.
The effects I`m talking about are the `spray` effect (clouds of water which the car leaves behind when driving on wet)
and the `drying` effect (during the race the driving line becomes more dry as the cars `cleans` the water away)

In order to actually experience the `drying effect` you must race with AIs.
The effect is also visible when you drive alone, but it doesn`t affect the driving itself.
The spray` effect is of course always visible.
However you can lower the effect itself by lowering the effect bar in the GeneRally options menu.
Unfortunatelly lowering the effect bar do not lower the density of the spray but only it`s lenght.
I suggest setting the effect bar around 20% or less.

So, what are this effect good for anyway.

I think I don`t need to explain the `drying effect`.
The more the driving line become drier the faster you can go around the track.

The `spray effect` is supposed to make the race harder since it lowers the visibilty on the track.
If you don`t like it you can still lower the effect bar to 0% in order to remove the `spray effect`.

Crowella looking good, definitely looking forward to these new objects

Thank you Kikwik, so much useful information there! The water+oil/snow tactic I described doesn't really work because the water doesn't move or react to the car, so it's a bit dull. So I think I'll be doing the dirt + palette version. But the testing continues.

So where might I find said rain/wet palette?
What else besides the palette and car editor do I need?

P.S. I think you might be a genius after all ;)

For the rain palette, please check your PM.

Apart from the palette and car editor you need nothing else. Just be sure to invert tarmac 1 & 2 with dirt (the greenish one) and mud on your track and you'll be fine.
P.S. I think you might be a genius after all ;)
Oooh I didn't thought about a historic version.. Really nice with its name on the starting line. :goodvibes:

WS120 World Tour has a few unusual tracks coming up. Here's a preview of one of them.
Pau.JPG
Unusual in the sense that there ares till several legendary F1 tracks I haven't made, but I keep making F3 tracks, abandoned F1 tracks and remakes. :D

Also shoutout to Kikwik for rain palette, wasn't able to send you a pm so I'll just give you a big thank you here

Also also stay tuned for actual (WS180) tracks coming up soon. STC and CIR.

I love Maciej1's European Autocross tracks, but he hasnt updated the pack with the rest of the championship's tracks.
I tried making 4 of them in another topic, not even CLOSE to Maciej1's skills, but at leat the "track layout" is acceptable.

Now Im trying to make Mollerussa (Espana) and FozCoa (Portugal) but idk, I just cant see how to make them cooler, idk how to the proper elevations. This is just a sketch so far, to see if the layout works

WHERE IS MACIEJ1?? haha get these tracks and finish theeem, mate. PLEAASE haha
I also want to do a "Mini Dutch Autocross" tracks. They are basically ovals-ISH, same way I did the MINI Czech AX championship.
The track sucks but I have fun playing on them. Anyway, if anyone is into Autocross too and want to get these tracks to finish them, PLEASE, BE MY GUEST haha

Im always having too much stuff going on over here (work, I just lost my mom so there tons of things to deal with, my sis is now sick, my dad is very sick.... so I never have the actual time to learn other tools to make these tracks. The little free time I have I play GR a little bit haha

CHeers, my fellas, Hope you are doing well!

Sorry for your loss, along with Kaward, and for your brother and sister's sickness, must be tough. Keep going, take care and much love from me even if we're far away from each other. Hope all of you will be doing well soon and be able to overcome those difficulties.

Maciej1 is missing so much, but its work remains luckily, for us to be able to enjoy it.

It takes a lot of time to create a good track, even more for a real world and for a big size as he did. He was truly passionate and you feel it with whatever he did.

I don't have any more will to create tracks unfortunately ; life is there with work and everything else, but me too play GR from time to time. :goodvibes:

If I can give you some tips for elevation, you can use GRMHEdit to create precise and good Hmap for your track. On the Track Editor it's not as precise than this wonderful tool.

I like the look of Mollerussa ; it makes me think a little bit to Mazan in France.

Cheers, take care.
