Thank you ! :bsmile:

Sorry, I already have someone in the Ferrari team. :sorry:

The remaining teams you can choose are Haas, Racing Point or Renault.

Then I'll send the link for your Excel sheet by PM for you to race.

Maybe stupid question, but where's the video you mentioned before? I'm looking forward to taking part, but am curious about the vid and how to set the tyre wear / fuel settings and such.

No such thing as stupid questions.

All settings are already set when you download the comp folder in the first post. So you basically don't have to touch anything after downloading it.

As for the video, I'll give it to you there directly, will be more convenient :

GD&ES How to video

You have the direct link as well on your Excel sheet, along with the manual.

A kind reminder to all of you :

Race time is over on November 30th at 23:00:00 GMT, or midnight in your country.

Eager to see your race and compile them. :goodvibes:

Expect 2 race videos for all replays next week (1 video with the fastest ones and 1 video with the slowest ones, but always with 6 drivers on each), standings and a podium shot. :)

I don't have much video editing skills but I'll do my best. :sweatdrop:

Okay, I'm pulling out of this attempt. I still see the fun in it, but there's too much stuff confusing me right now about the how/who/what/where. Well, i fixed some of those, took me long to find, but to also find the programs required is a bit much right now. Might sound weird, but brain damage, neurodiversity and a bad mood can make me confused and annoyed easily on bad days.

I'll delve into the other things (mainly the tools and comp-file and such) over the next few days, aiming to take part at a future attempt. Still very much intending to do so, might try these things after playing GR for 20+ years.

Maybe i am wrong, but the only program needed was comzipper, that was in the pack shared by Kikwik for the race... excel and One drive worked in Google Chrome....

Sorry to hear that Txizzle, and I was out yesterday evening so I couldn't be there to help you sadly. :worried:

Yes it was "Comp_zipper_12" to use in the comp folder, at the same place you start GR.

It can be confusing for the first times so don't worry. I remember having hard times too when I began online competition. And to be frank we're forced to use a weird system instead of multiplayer but we don't have another solution right now, and on another side it can be useful for those who can't be there at the same time to race together, like our friends Crowella or CraapyTracks.

But if the issue was only about the zipper, you may still have all your files ready right ? If you use comp_zipper and upload the file on your folder, I will not disqualify you and take into account your race. If you have already deleted your files, I can let you try another time with a new prepared track and reset your Excel sheet. Your choice.

So it's up to you, if you still want to see yourself racing with other people worldwide in a video. :)

8 entries, 3 that reached the finish line and get a podium place. So... what happened ? :sweatdrop:

Did Covid-19 striked again at Hanoï ? Did I made a mistake to not sending you PM as reminder instead of there in this thread ? Did you were distracted by your cat ? :D

Well at least we have a race video without editing sorry, I'm not skilled in this, but at least you can check it there :

Hanoï Race

Replay files are here if you want to check it on your GR :
Replay.zip
(1.43 MiB) Downloaded 2204 times

And finally the standings and podium :
Standings in-game
Standings
Podium

I would have liked to comment on this race but spoilers here don't work anymore... :ouch:

Thanks to all who had participated, and congrats to the winner ! :goal:

Regarding this new system, apart from technical difficulties from first users linked to GR and competition matters in general, it works. At least you can do a GR competition without a Login Website, with Excel sheets and Google Drive. Though you need to be rigorous and have a lot of organizing skills as well. :P

I'll try to create something to share with you soon for you to create a GR competition as well.

Again, thanks to you all to had participated, tried this system with or without success, and those who were listed but couldn't raced with us. Still a miracle to play GR together in 2025 and you all made it possible. :goodvibes:

Many thanks to Kikwik for your dedication and for giving us the opportunity to play online.

I'm lucky enough to play locally with Gilwan Vettelinho and two other friends. We play together once a week, and unfortunately, no online system will ever be able to match the local competition for many reasons.

However, I must say that, aside from some initial difficulties due to the version, the system seemed very simple once I understood the steps, so congratulations especially to you!

In my opinion, the beauty of these forum competitions is being able to compare yourself, even if more indirectly than local competitions, with other players from all over the world. So I strongly hope there will be other opportunities to play, with fewer DSQs and DNFs.

Thanks for the kind words Kaward ! :bsmile:

Yeah you're truly lucky guys. Many people don't play simple games like GR anymore, and no more in local like the old times. And to have good friends is a blessing and a rarity these days. Take care together. :goodvibes:

Glad to know that the system used here was simple on your side despite the hurdles of starting a competition online for the first time.

Will prepare all that's needed for doing a competition like this.

No worries, was glad to see you in the entry list even if you couldn't make the race with us.

Each car and track in GR takes a while to tame it. Like in reality, which is nice to see in such a "simple" game. :cool2:
