[rwl] [cir] Hockenheim 2001, 1991 & 1968
hello
Somebody mentioned to me about making this, cant remember who it was now but thought i would have a go.
Now i admit, this is probably the most innacurate and deformed layout of a rwl that i have ever made but there was nothing i could do about that. I've tried to make the chicanes as un-straight-line-able as possible, yet didnt want to make them that slow, because as the straights are relatively short, i didnt want the track to feel too slow and i needed room for the pits in the stadium section; so yeah, its a bit deformed, but its the best i could do...
However, i hope that you enjoy it, comments welcome
Cheers, BBA!
edit: added the version without the Ostkurve chicane
1968 version
1991 version

Re: [rwl] [cir] Hockenheim 2001
And can I respectfully ask for version of track, when Jim Clark lost his life there, please? (He's for me as inspirational personality as Ayrton Senna.)
5/5 (After test.) The chicanes are perfect.

Re: [rwl] [cir] Hockenheim 2001
Now this is definitely the best version of the old Hockenheim fo GR.
These kind of "deformations" are allowed IMO since, as you said, otherwise the chicanes would be driven flat out. Now they actually serve their purpose, but at the same time they don't kill out all of the speed.
The track looks very nice too.
Only bad thingie I have to say (and it is veeeeeeery minor...) is, that the white line on the last corner looks kinda funny, and maybe the little part of white line could just be taken away so it doesn't have to do the little extra kink or make the corner look too narrow.

Re: [rwl] [cir] Hockenheim 2001
ahh i know what you mean, it was a similar thing when i made croft (the inside of the hairpin). I try to make it as accurate as i can, and that is how it appears on google earth (and how i remember it, the outside line going a bit funny1nsane wrote:Only bad thingie I have to say (and it is veeeeeeery minor...) is, that the white line on the last corner looks kinda funny, and maybe the little part of white line could just be taken away so it doesn't have to do the little extra kink or make the corner look too narrow.

Re: [rwl] [cir] Hockenheim 2001
Would it be possible to have a usable version of the short track, too?

Wow, BBA, I've wanted an excellent version of this for a long time - I have two good but not great recreations, but this tops them! Great job as always Would love those extra ones as well.

Re: [rwl] [cir] Hockenheim 2001 & 1968
Thank you, this is amazing. Maybe you could leave the ''roof'' around the motodrom, but that's only point. Really impressive pair of tracks.

Love this Hockenheimring ! It keeps me thinking about making an Endurance Series
PS: But I'm not ready to make a compo yet, maybe next time

Would it be too much to ask you for the 1990-1 version as well?

I adore your 1968 version. Racing on top speed behind trees is just awesome. Thank you for this track.
