@Crowella & WouterVL: I mean something like in the picture, a combination of concrete wall and bushes or hedges (I don't like my try). How should I make it?
@Crowella: Really nice layout, I hope it will be a great track ;)
@WouterVL: I'm not sure if I'm the perfect person (thank you for the compliment :)) but I think that you could make a park in the right grassy area and some buildings with different cobblestone textures in the left area. ;) I hope you can finish this track. :bg:

hmm... it doesn't look too well, yeah. Maybe do what i suggested, and then make it a little wider and filled to fit with the borders of the track, then add some trees. Maybe that looks cool.

Here's what i mean:

And an even better example:

But you will have to make it better than my tries... :P

@ Dragon: I would fill the inside of hairpin by hedge (like Wouter and crowella suggest) and around it a thin stripe of sunk tyres (look on JE69 GB5 Road, the fence in bottom-right, XYY's square IIRC) to make illusion of wall. But now it's also good!

Sorry, but, a lot of this track seems way too narrow, there's barely room for one car to get through :eyes: And those hay bales and stuff along the back look quite wonky.

Dragon, Is that a generally style mallory park?
Hannu, who art in Finland, Räbinä be thy name. Sim racers come, races are won, at Agari, as at Xupong. Give us this day our version 1.06, and forgive us all our impatience, as we race those who challenge against us. Lead us not into boredom, but deliver us from work. For thine is the GeneRally, and the AI, and the race cars. Amen!

I'm writing, because I've problems with scenery. What can I add to make track more interesting? :)

Before you start, turn the track so it uses the map better.

But scenery wise, what sort of track do you want to make? This is so early in the trackmaking process, if you need some scenery advice already you're going to struggle.

Work on it a bit first and see what you can do, otherwise people can only really suggest the most obvious of things at this stage...

Perhaps turn it into some kind of tarmac infield area?

Hello guys ! :)

After I left the forum and my project Community, I had a guilty conscience and I want to picking up my project to apologize... :vsad:
Excuse me again for this, I realized that the hours in GMT Time was very restraining for me and I was afraid to continue, so I let all I've done for Generally...

But this time, I want to change the rules :
There will be no more races (must set a GMT Time and that's the reason I left).
Just rounds and anyone can choose what he wants to do to restore the track. No competition, just community build.
Or like the idea of Otto Wilson, make a contest that all can participate and restore the track and vote to the best track restorer...

What do you think about it ?

Considering that you were away for almost half a year you should post what the project was about, people don't remember. ;)

Ah yes, that's right ! :sweatdrop:
(Half a year already ? )

Ok, my idea was to create a contest, a track restoration project where a track in a bad condition was given to Generally International Forum's members. All the community of the forum was able to restore step by step this track. How ? By racing on it to gain money (figuratively !). The racers who beat a record were able to restore something to the track (clean the track removing some rocks or bushes, or make the paintings on the tarmac, ...). There were 7 rounds or 7 races and 3 places (1st, 2nd and 3rd) by race to restore the tracks.

But...

Racing was very restraining for me and for the racers because I was forced to put a GMT Time for the races and afraid, I left my project all of a sudden...

So I want to change the rules like I said 2 posts earlier to make my track restoration project easier to plan and easier to the members who want to participate.
I will quote my post :

Or any idea you have with this project !

So... are you interesting again and what kind of restoration you think it's the best for you ?

How would you best make a wooden barrier which looks like an armco barrier in white colour? :D I need to know it for one of my projects...

I thought about using the armco barrier, because the colour is almost fitting and then there'll be a difference to the real concrete barriers... :)

How about something like this? :D Draw a thin shadow for the barrier and put the objects on it, the sperpective will work by itself. Just need to strengthen the line if it's not visible enough. I guess it will work with an armco barrier too, but never tried it.

Maybe you can take a look at my "Deep Forest".
I had a similar problem and used Lmap barriers for almost the whole track...

I'm not very keen of doing a lmap job there, but I'll try it :bg: Tomorrow or tuesday I'll show you how both things would look like... ;)

Edit: just a quick sketch. I most like Garbre's suggestion (the left one), although it will be much work to add these barriers pretty much everywhere ;)

Interesting, I like the right one most, but with a gap running horizontally throught the centre, although this would be more of a 'white fence'
