It's hard to judge only from the picture, but I think there's some trick that could help simplify the front part a bit so you'd get another vertex you could use somewhere else. Also there should be more white than black on the sides (near front wheels), I think. And the front wing should be definitely a bit bigger.RudyOosterndijk wrote:Last day of testing and I gave it a try.
What would you say - in comparison with the previous model(s) - about:
- the coke-bottle rear end? I used to tie the sidepods to the rear wing because that leaves you with more options to put any livery on the car. In this area I could now save some polys that I used to model the rear part of the floor.
- the simple nose? If this was 2015, I would have tried to shape the real stingy nose tip. But I ran into trouble last year when McLaren and Force India introduced their latest versions so I scrapped that idea altogether.
- the cockpit? Isn't it supposed to bit more to the rear of the car? Or does ist seem so because I shortened the nose?
Thanks Lorenzo! You are right, there is (at least) one vertex relatively unnecessary. It only helps the flickering polygons and I put it there (under the Shell triangle) merely because there was not much to do with anywhere else on the car - at least that's what I thought that day. Maybe that's different from your "trick", so I will come back to you later when I have had time to spent on the car(s) and find out what more there is to improve.Lorenzo wrote: It's hard to judge only from the picture, but I think there's some trick that could help simplify the front part a bit so you'd get another vertex you could use somewhere else. But the model looks very good, the new shape of the rear shouldn't cause any serious livery-related issues and it looks very neat. The proportions are spot on, but I'd love to see the car from another angle to be sure
And don't be tempted to make too detailed noses, it's a trap
It was supposed to be a take on that yellow livery rumour last year. I can't remember if it was Trigger Happy's or my idea to slap some Shell/Penzoil on it, though. The avatars, however, were NASCAR drivers.RobertRacer wrote:PGRF1 carpack also included a Haas car, but in a other look (I think it orientated on the 2015 Haas-Nascar).
Thanks... but you are wrong!marinator wrote: Well, it looks perfect
Funny, at the beginning of my carmaking "career" I used to make something similiar on the images of cars.rooboty wrote:BTW I can't be the only one who makes cars like this right?

These cars will have unique performances according to their classes. (And of course, the LMPs will have far better stats than GTs...)
Some confirmed cars are those that appeared in Scud Race and Le Mans 24, both are Sega's arcade racers. This means these cars have raced in BPR Global Series and/or Le Mans in 90s. Feel free to throw your suggestions to me as this list is still under construction. Plus, I'm doing GTs first, and once these are done, I can move on to some LMPs, open and closed prototypes...

What do you think of these cars as of now?
PS: Can you remind me again what are the color IDs for painting a car's polies?
Long story short, the WIP was on my old HDD which was broken and I didn't have the chance to back them up to my online drive. Right now I haven't had my focus on GR yet, though I would try making them from scratch once again if I have free time.broGneister wrote:I know it's a bit late but what happened to that 90's GT pack?
