[cir] [stc] Dorset Motorsport Event

Post by Spacethingy »

*Sigh* If only... This is a fictional [rwl] set in my hometown of Weymouth as the roads were a few years back, on the south UK coast. (Any chance of making a new tag? E.g. [fwl], "fictional world location"?) The track is quite narrow, as it would be in the real world, although I also messed up the world size a bit too... :D

Two tracks: Circuit and an Autocross-style track.

Yes, I'm serious. Nice track and environment you got there :bg:

This is actually really good.
Even if there are some "weird" things about it.

Like the Lmap objects. All of them are too big and a bit out of perspective but for some reason it still looks good. Kind of comic-style.
And the oil/black almost everywhere. It´s strange but somehow it fits and could be seen as shadows.
(did you export the sattellite-image to paint?)

So even if the track is far from perfect, I really like it. It´s not another one of those generic snake editor tracks...
It has a very unique feeling and style.
4,5/5! Great job! :bg:

It is imo a perfect example of where spectators are supposed to be placed at best though. :P And on top of that, the atmosphere looks rather neat also. Don't worry about the WS too much by the way. :cool2:

Thanks for the nice comments guys (and the drool :) ). Yes, I screened-dumped a Google maps satellite image into GIMP, then applied the Generally palette using dithering I think.
