Re: Motorsports Trivia Game
Marlboro was the sponsor of McLaren for 23 years. It's a record.

Re: Motorsports Trivia Game
I know, that wiki says really this as record, but I'm very curious on verification of Alonsomania's answer. I read few months ago, that Ferrari and Shell against prolonged their contract with note, that the relationship goes very long time (since prewar days), but maybe there were some breaks, maybe in days e.g. Agip. Any knowledge about length of this contract? I just found, that Ferrari run in march 2010 450th GP with Shell (they run slightly over 600 in sum)...
My GR Racing Stats; thanks to GWR!

Well, hmm.. Maybe then Alonsomania was right. Technically it was partnership rather than sponsorship, though actually they're very much the same. What I was after was McLaren-Hugo Boss, as they state their 29 years is the longest sponsorship in history of any sportHaving first worked together in 1947, when Enzo Ferrari set up his car factory, the two companies have now shared over 60 years of shared passion for performance. Find out their race history together.
And pre-war sponsorships usually were quite unknown.. Though there's a rumour that Gauloises sponsored Bugatti to paint their cars the same color as the company's cigarette packs

For me, there's 2 options:
· I won
· Alonsomania has to post another answer

Re: Motorsports Trivia Game
Sponsorship was, but not painted on cars, that's the difference between pre-1968 era and presence.Quklis wrote:And pre-war sponsorships usually were quite unknown.. Though there's a rumour that Gauloises sponsored Bugatti to paint their cars the same color as the company's cigarette packs

Re: Motorsports Trivia Game
The only one I can think of at the moment is Jos Verstappen.
Re: Motorsports Trivia Game
Uhm... Verstappen's first race was in Brazil
Yet, the best answer I found is Alexander Wurz but he's first GP was in Canada and the last one was in China.
Maybe the first car what is the searched racer drove not equal to the first car he raced with

Yep I knew that the Benetton would confuse you a bit. He tested Benetton before joined Lotus

Re: Motorsports Trivia Game
Okay here's mine:
If we take into consideration a team's all the predecessors (the past teams what becomes to the present team) we get something what I will call now a "team-stream". Haha
So how many champions have ever raced at the Mercedes GP's "team-stream" and who are they?

Care to explain? BAR were a completely new team when they began, so what is the connection to scheckter?
Re: Motorsports Trivia Game
From Wiki...
British American Racing was a Formula One constructor that competed in the sport from 1999 to 2005. BAR began by acquiring Tyrrell, and used Supertec engines for their first year. Subsequently they formed a partnership with Honda which lasted for the next six years.

I don't know that much about motorsports actually...
Who is the lap record holder of Targa Florio? And what is the other thing this driver is famous of?
